Sedra Order · order intake automation for glass factories

Orders come in by email. Nobody should have to retype them.

Sedra Order reads the trade orders in your inbox, checks every unit, and puts each order in front of your staff beside the original. They approve it, and the import file for your production system is written.

How it works

1 thing to sort before this can go Unit 4: the glass has been left blank rather than guessed. Pick it to carry on.
Ready Everything checks out. Approve it to write the import file.
Approved by you The import file has been written and the email is tagged in Outlook.
Nothing is sent until someone approves it.

Ready for production

The import file is written into your production system's watch folder.

Your production system's watch folderExample

TW0412,Plot 7,4,388,762,1,4/16/6.4 laminated

A simplified example. The real file uses your production system's own layout and codes.

  • Nobody retyped itSeven units, from a photo of a handwritten sheet.
  • Your production system takes it from hereIt imports the file the way it already does.
  • The email is tagged in OutlookAnyone looking at the mailbox can see it has been dealt with.
  • Who approved it is on recordWith every correction they made.
The problem

One inbox, every kind of paperwork.

Orders arrive as PDF forms, scans, phone photos, Word documents, spreadsheets, or sizes typed into the message, in among supplier invoices and ordinary admin. Someone reads each one and types it into the production system. One mistyped size is a unit made wrong and made again.

Sedra Order sorts the inbox first. Anything it isn't sure about goes to a person. No email is deleted, dropped or decided quietly.

Why you can trust it

Built around what a wrong order costs.

Software that reads documents will sometimes be unsure. What matters is what it does then.

A person approves every order

Nothing reaches the shop floor without someone in your office saying so.

Blank beats wrong

A code it can't work out is left empty for a person to fill in. A guess costs a remade unit.

Nothing is ever lost

Anything it is unsure about goes to a queue for your staff. No email is deleted or dropped.

It uses your codes

Customer accounts and material codes come from your own production system.

It learns your customers

Once someone picks the account for a sender, their next order is matched for you.

Changes don't slip through

An amendment is linked to its job. If the job has already been exported, your staff get an alert.

Where it runs

On a PC in your own building.

Sedra Order is installed on a machine at your factory and set up for your products. Your customer data and passwords stay there. The only outside services are your mailbox and the AI model that reads the documents.

Quotes go through the same process as orders, in their own queue.

Looks after itself

Monitors its own health and alerts your staff by email or Teams.

Backed up daily

A bad day on the PC isn't a lost week of orders.

Who did what

An audit trail of every approval and every change, by name.

Measured, not guessed

Every correction is recorded, with time and cost per order.

In live use at a UK glass manufacturer

Is it for us?

Sedra Order is for glass processors and sealed-unit manufacturers who take trade orders by email and key them into a production system. It is in daily use on real orders, from inbox to import file.

It is better to be plain about where it stops.

  • Works with Microsoft 365 mailboxes and exports to Glass Office. Those are the two it supports today.
  • It doesn't reply to your customers or send confirmations. That stays with your office.
  • It writes the import file and your production system takes it from there.
  • It isn't an online service you sign up to. Each factory gets its own install, set up and tuned to its products.
  • It doesn't replace your office staff. It takes the retyping off them and leaves the decisions with them.
About

Sedra Software

Sedra Software is a UK company that builds order intake automation: software that takes the paperwork arriving at a business and turns it into checked, structured orders, with a person in charge of what goes through.

Sedra Order is our first product, and glass is where it started. It was built on a factory floor's real inbox, not from a specification.

See it read one of your own orders.

Tell us how orders reach you today and we'll arrange a demo. There is no sign-up and no sales script, just a conversation about whether it fits your factory.
